The mission of the Center for European Studies is to promote the development of research and publications on European culture, history, society, politics, economics, science and technology, with particular attention to Europe’s legacy and presence in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean region. The Center seeks to create spaces for innovative discussions across Europeanist disciplines, to foster the training of new generations of experts in European studies, and to establish new opportunities for academic and inter-institutional collaboration on European subjects and public issues within the Americas and across the Atlantic.
The Center for European Studies hosts the Chair of Italo-Dominican Studies Alessandro Geraldini and the homepage of the Franco-Savoyard thinker Joseph de Maistre (1753-1821).
